What Makes a Valid Notice
A DMCA takedown notice must include all of the following statutory elements to be processed:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
- Identification of the infringing material and its exact URL on our platform
- Your contact information (name, address, phone, email)
- A good faith statement that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act
Counter-Notice Process
If you believe your content was wrongly removed due to a DMCA notice, you may file a counter-notice by emailing dmca@howtohobby.com. We will forward your counter-notice to the original claimant. Content may be restored after 10–14 business days if the claimant does not file a court action.
Repeat Infringer Policy
Users who receive 3 or more valid copyright strikes will have their account permanently terminated in accordance with our Terms of Service.
False Claims Warning
Knowingly filing a false DMCA claim may expose the claimant to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
